Doctor Web’s 2021 mobile malware activity overview

Doctor Web presents its annual mobile malware activity overview for 2021. According to collected statistics, adware trojans and many malicious downloaders remain among the most active threats. The latter can download other software and execute arbitrary code. Throughout the year, malicious actors spread multiple new Android threats through Google Play. At the same time, trojans were discovered on AppGallery for the first time. In addition, our specialists observed an increased number of banking trojans attacks. At the end of the year, we published a study that assessed the safety of children’s smartwatches and revealed several serious security issues.
