An increase in malware activity and other events of August 2021

Doctor Web presents its August 2021 virus activity review. The total number of unique detected threats increased compared to July. According to statistics, adware and unwanted programs continue to be popular threats. Malicious files and backdoors were most often distributed in email traffic. User requests to decrypt files affected by encoders increased by almost 4.2% compared to July. Read more about these and other events in our August virus review.
