An increase in malware activity and other events of September 2020

Doctor Web presents its September 2020 overview of malware activity. The first month of autumn was marked by an increase of over 10% in the number of detected threats. According to statistics, adware and trojan installers remained among the most active threats. A multi-module banker capable of running arbitrary code on infected devices returned to the top position in email traffic threats. Users continued to be threatened by malicious HTML documents often disguised as harmless email attachments. The number of user requests to decrypt files affected by encoders remained at August levels. Read more about these and other events in our September review.
