September 16, 2020
Doctor Web presents its August 2020 overview of malware activity. The past month revealed a decrease in the total amount of threats by over 60% compared with July. According to statistics, adware and malware installers remained among the most active threats. Email traffic was still dominated by malware that exploit vulnerabilities in Microsoft Office programs, as well by malicious HTML documents, which were disguised as harmless email attachments. The number of user requests to decrypt files affected by encoders remained at July levels. Read more about these and other events in our June review.
