A decline in malware activity and other events of May 2020
June 19, 2020
Doctor Web presents its May 2020 overview of malware activity. The past month continued the downward trend in malware activity, with the number of detected threats decreasing by over a quarter compared to April. According to statistics, adware and malware installers topped the list of detected threats. The most common malware in email traffic were programs that exploit vulnerabilities in Microsoft Office utilities. In addition, malicious HTML documents and a multi-module banking trojan also remained active. For the first time since January 2020, statistics revealed a decrease in the number of user requests to decrypt files affected by encoders. Read more about these and other events in our May review.
