Dr.Web Security Space for Android updated to version 12.6.3 and Dr.Web Anti-virus Light for Android updated to version 11.5.2

Russian anti-virus company Doctor Web has updated its Dr.Web Security Space for Android to version 12.6.3 and Dr.Web Anti-virus Light for Android to version 11.5.2. The update delivers feature upgrades and fixes of known defects.

Changes affecting Dr.Web Security Space for Android:

  • Adjustments have been made for distributing the application via HUAWEI's AppGallery;
  • The Security Auditor can now assist users with configuring exceptions for background process optimisation;
  • Scanner routines have been upgraded;
  • Notifications are now displayed to explain that Dr.Web requires access to location information when the anti-theft is being used under Android 10;
  • An issue causing the application to terminate abnormally in centralised protection mode has been resolved;
  • If a user subscribes to Dr.Web Mobile Life, the application no longer requests redundant permissions to operate on the device;
  • In the Dr.Web versions that can be downloaded from drweb.com or HUAWEI AppGallery or are available under the Dr.Web Mobile Life tariff, the Call and SMS Filter no longer requests permissions of the default call application;
  • An account registration issue that could occur if an email address associated with a previously deleted account was being specified has been eliminated;
  • Also resolved was an issue preventing the anti-theft to lock devices using two SIM cards;
  • A problem causing the application to terminate abnormally on some devices has been fixed;
  • A defect preventing the anti-theft password from being entered while the option to block access to the Dr.Web app was being enabled has been corrected;
  • The update also delivers a number of minor tweaks and upgrades.

Changes made to Dr.Web Light for Android:

  • Scanner routines have been upgraded;
  • A problem causing the application to terminate abnormally on some devices has been fixed;
  • The update also delivers a number of minor tweaks and upgrades.

If you downloaded the Dr.Web application from Google Play, the updates will be downloaded and installed automatically. If you’ve disabled automatic updating on your device, go to Google Play, select Dr.Web Security Space, Dr.Web Security Space Life or Dr.Web Anti-virus Light on the application list, and click "Update”.

To update via the Doctor Web site, you need to download a new distribution file. If you’ve enabled the “New app version” option in the settings, a notification will be displayed whenever the virus databases are updated. You can start the download directly from this dialogue box.
