Components of Dr.Web 6.0 products for Windows updated

November 15, 2010

Doctor Web announced the release of updated components included in Dr.Web products from the series 6 for protection of Windows PCs and file servers (32- and 64-bit). The update fixes errors that resulted in incorrect generating and processing of demo key files under 64-bit versions of Windows.

Changes have been done to the updating module, the GUI-based scanner, Scanning Engine service and to the firewall. Once the update is installed, users of demo versions of Dr.Web software for 64-bit versions of Windows will have to retrieve a demo key file once again. In order to compensate for inconveniences the newly acquired key file will give users an entire month to try all features of Dr.Web products.

The update will be automatically downloaded by the anti-viruses but applying the update will require a system reboot.
