Components of Dr.Web 6.0 products for Windows updated

November 11, 2010

Doctor Web announced updating of components features by Dr.Web 6.0 products for Windows PCs and file servers.

Now the agent displays statistics for the file, mail and HTTP monitors and for the parental control in one window. An error when the agent’s menu might lack the My Dr.Web item has been fixed.

Changes have been done to the module responsible for intercepting mail and network traffic to improve its compatibility with third-party software.

Several changes have been done to the Dr.Web firewall. Now it can send information about created filtering rules to Doctor Web’s server. The list of trusted applications has been reorganized to increase the number of entries and lower its size. Known errors including issues related to the firewall’s UI have been fixed.

Besides, interface defects and known errors of the updating utility that might cause critical system errors have been corrected. An error when malicious links weren’t blocked with the Parental control removed has been fixed.

Improvements have also been done to the Dr.Web Sysinfo module to make processing reports easier.

Dr.Web solutions 6.0 for Windows will be updated automatically. However, a system restart will be required to apply the update.
