July 9, 2019

Russian anti-virus company Doctor Web has announced the release of Dr.Web Security Space 12.4.1 for Android and Dr.Web Light 11.3.1 for Android. The products incorporate new features and fixes for known issues and boast enhanced anti-virus security.

Changes affecting Dr.Web Security Space for Android:

  • An issue causing the SpIDer Guard icon to disappear from the status bar under Android 7.0 and 7.1 has been resolved.
  • Routines that track changes in the system memory have been readjusted.
  • Also resolved was a problem causing the URL filter to shut down when in centralised protection mode.
  • The update also addresses an issue causing the application to terminate abnormally on some Samsung devices if the option to track changes in the system memory was turned on.

Changes affecting Dr.Web Light for Android:

If you’ve disabled automatic updating on your device, go to Google Play, select Dr.Web Security Space, Dr.Web Security Space Life or Dr.Web Anti-virus Light on the application list, and click "Update”.

To update via the Doctor Web site, you need to download a new distribution file. If you’ve enabled the “New app version” option in the settings, a notification will be displayed whenever the virus databases are updated. You can start the download directly from this dialogue box.
