Components of Dr.Web 6.0 for Windows updated

October 18, 2010

Doctor Web updated the Scanning Engine service and a number of components included in Dr.Web single-user products for Windows from the series 6.

The reworked Scanning Engine provides more stable operation of the anti-virus on Windows terminal servers. The changes done to the service also required updating of the mail and HTTP monitors and the anti-virus agent.

The new feature of the updating module allows it to choose an updating server according to the location of the user machine to ensure the fastest download speed.

Some changes affect operation of the quarantine: improvements have been done to its GUI, its operation is now more stable and known errors have been fixed.

Dr.Web solutions 6.0 for Windows will be updated automatically. However, a system restart will be required to apply the update.
