Beta version of Dr.Web for Symbian with file monitor

September 28, 2010

Doctor Web launched beta-testing of the updated Dr.Web for Symbian featuring a file monitor. The real-time protection improves security of mobile devices significantly as SpIDer Guard monitors all file operations while they are being performed.

Users who participated in testing of Dr.Web for Symbian earlier, only need to download the updated distribution from Doctor Web’s site.

Other owners of smart phones running Symbian S60 need to submit IMEI required to create a signature for the anti-virus to ensure that a legitimate installation is performed on the target device. Without such a signature the program won’t install on the device. The application distribution file will be updated on weekly basis upon receipt of IMEI from users willing to give Dr.Web for Symbian a try.

Oue can provide all the information required to participate in the beta-testing at the registration page. Terms of Doctor Web privacy policy can be found here.
