Doctor Web has presented a new appliance called Dr.Web Office Shield on the Infosecurity Russia 2008 conference. The appliance targets small and medium businesses and substantially increases the level of their IT security at a reasonable price.
Dr.Web Office Shield is an appliance for anti-virus and anti-spam protection of small and medium-sized companies with a number of workstations within 50-150. The device is shipped as Dr.Web Office Shield Server and Dr.Web Office Shield Gateway. Three types of cases are available as well. The new appliance brings comprehensive protection against viruses and other Internet threats, filters web-content, monitors use of working time and traffic by employees., blocks unwanted web resources and unauthorized use of large amount of traffic.
The manager of the business development department of Doctor Web Valentine Fedotov believes that Dr.Web Office Shield has several features making it unique for the market: “First of all the appliance offers reliable anti-virus system so one can set up an anti-virus network. There are no other products on the market that would allow doing that. Dr.Web Office Shield increases labour productivity of employees, reduces downtimes and anti-virus ownership costs up to fifty per cent”.
