Dr.Web compatible with January's security updates for Windows

January 10, 2018

Russian anti-virus company Doctor Web wishes to inform users that Dr.Web version 11.0 products for Windows, Dr.Web 10.0 for Windows Servers, Dr.Web Enterprise Security Suite 10.0 and 10.1, and Dr.Web AV-Desk 10.0 and 10.1 are compatible with the security updates released by Microsoft to patch the Meltdown and Spectre vulnerabilities and do not interfere with the installation of the updates.

Scheduled for release on January 9, 2018, the updates were rolled out by Microsoft on January 3, in the midst of the New Year's holidays.

Despite the fact that Dr.Web products haven’t disrupted the normal operation of Windows, in accordance with Microsoft's requirements for anti-virus software, changes have been introduced in Dr.Web applications to notify the operating system that the security updates are ready to be downloaded and installed.

The update will be downloaded and installed automatically.

For improved system security, all previous Dr.Web software versions should be updated to version 11.0.
