Dr.Web bot for Telegram updated

July 18, 2017

Russian anti-virus company Doctor Web has updated Dr.Web bot for Telegram. The update delivers new features and resolves known issues.

Specifically, the size of scanned objects has increased to 20 MB, while default notifications for new chats are now displayed only when threats are discovered.

Furthermore, the update addresses a file processing issue that arose if Cyrillic and Arabic characters were present in names of scanned files as well as a problem that interfered with file downloads from Telegram’s servers.

To use the bot, find the Telegram account @DrWebBot (or go to telegram.me/drwebbot) and send it a file or a link. The bot will check it for viruses and report on the results.
