MailD crash due to incorrect updating of the vaderetro plugin has been fixed

September 19, 2008

On September 19 users of "Dr.Web for Unix mail servers. Anti-virus&Anti-spam" experienced a crash of the main module of the program (drweb-maild) after a subsequent update of the vaderetro anti-spam plugin developed by GOTO Software. The developers of the anti-spam fixed the incorrect updating so the corrected version was available in the Dr.Web updating area on 11.00 GMT.

We strongly advise all users of "Dr.Web for Unix mail servers. Anti-virus&Anti-spam" to update as soon as possible.

Doctor Web makes apology for inconveniences. A new updating system for the vaderetro plugin is to be developed so no issues like this would occur in future.
