Dr.Web ShellGuard updated in Dr.Web 11.0 for Windows, Dr.Web Enterprise Security Suite 10.0 and Dr.Web AV-Desk 10.0

September 19, 2016

Russian anti-virus company Doctor Web has updated the anti-exploit module Dr.Web ShellGuard (11.01.03.09070) in Dr.Web Security Space 11.0 and Dr.Web Anti-virus 11.0, Dr.Web 11.0 for Windows Servers, as well as in Dr.Web Desktop Security Suite supporting centralised administration (part of Dr.Web Enterprise Security Suite 10.0) and in the Internet service Dr.Web AV-Desk 10.0. In addition, Dr.Web Control Service (11.0.9.09150) was updated in Dr.Web Enterprise Security Suite and Dr.Web AV-Desk. The update resolves known software issues.

A compatibility issue between Dr.Web ShellGuard and EMET software has been resolved. The update also eliminated a problem resulting in false positives when printing Microsoft Word 2007 documents on Canon LBP 810 printers as well as when closing MS Excel 2016 if OfficeTab 11.0 and Abbyy FineReader 12 were installed in the system. Also resolved were defects involving interaction with Microsoft Office applications launched using VMWare ThinApp software and the abnormal termination of the 64-bit version of MS Word 2016 if DeviceLock software was installed in the system.

A Control Service defect in Dr.Web Enterprise Security Suite and Dr.Web AV-Desk that interfered with the parsing of agent configuration files and might result in accidental component removal has been corrected.

Lithuanian language modules were also updated for these two products.

The update will be performed automatically; however, a system reboot will be required.
