GUI scanner updated

March 18, 2010

Doctor Web announced the release of the updated GUI scanner incorporated in Dr.Web anti-virus solutions of the 5.00 and 6.00 series. The update fixes errors that sometimes may cause a system’s crash or abnormal termination of the scanner.

The blue screen of death could come up when a large file was scanned for viruses or in systems utilizing certain CPU and operating system configurations. Incorrect operation of the scanner in all cases described above has been fixed. An error that caused the scanner to terminate abnormally upon scanning some blocked files has also been corrected.

Dr.Web solutions for workstations, file and mail servers, Dr.Web Enterprise Suite and the Dr.Web anti-virus service software will download and install the update automatically.
