At the same time, in order to avoid possible failures, we recommend that subscribers refrain from refilling their balance in the web SCC during the specified period.

Doctor Web unveils Subscription Control Center 10.3.3 for Dr.Web AV-Desk

Russian anti-virus company Doctor Web has released a new version of the Subscription Control Center (SCC). As part of the Dr.Web AV-Desk Internet service, the SCC offers customers a simple and flexible way to manage their subscription-based Dr.Web Anti-virus software. This module also lets Doctor Web's partners independently adjust anti-virus subscription parameters for their clients.

Version 10.3.3 of the SCC boasts improved security and incorporates enhancements for more extensive use of PHP and PostgreSQL features and the diagnostics log as well as fixes for its known software issues.

Feature upgrades include:

Support for PHP 7.4 and PostgreSQL 9.6 and later versions already supported by Dr.Web AV-Desk 13.0.
The ability to export log files to a hard drive for more efficient log storage and viewing.
Adjustments have been made to administrator permissions to improve security for Dr.Web AV-Desk resellers.

Furthermore, maximum effort has been put into fixing identified errors. Issues resolved:

An issue preventing the parameters for a new organisation from being synchronised with the Dr.Web server;
A defect preventing subscription renewal discounts from being calculated correctly;
An issue affecting the user and group counter;
SCC malfunctioning problems involving the libdwavdapi and php-avdesk libraries;
On the sign-up page, CAPTCHA codes are now refreshed with no page refresh required;
An issue preventing the installer package from being downloaded over an unencrypted connection;
An SCC performance problem occurring when extensive financial reports were being processed;
An error preventing a cancelled subscription from being resumed;
An issue preventing financial reports from being generated correctly if a new partner entry was still incomplete;
A defect causing a subscription to disappear from the store if the tariff information was updated;
A subscription blocking error caused by an incorrect data format being used;
An issue that could arise while certain variables were being used;
A defect preventing the SCC from connecting to Dr.Web AV-Desk over SSL;
A reseller can now open the Dr.Web Security Center by using the corresponding link in their SCC account, without signing in again.

Russian anti-virus company Doctor Web has released Subscription Control Center (SCC) 10.3.2 for its Dr.Web AV-Desk Internet service.

New features:

Resellers can now automatically switch subscribers to new Dr.Web Anti-virus service tariffs.

Issues resolved:

An issue involving incorrect discount amounts being calculated for users who increase their number of active subscriptions;
A defect preventing administrators from managing users' subscriptions once the tariff status has changed;
An issue preventing a payment document template from being reset to default after a custom template has been deleted;
A problem causing the maximum allowed price parameter to not be factored in if a subscription had been purchased for customers by an administrator;
An error occurring while a backup was being created at the same time SCC updating was in progress.
An issue preventing administrators from viewing subscription information after the SCC has been updated;
A problem preventing long user names from being displayed properly in the SCC.

The updated SCC is available via the web interface as well as on the website.

Subscriptions to the Dr.Web Anti-virus service’s Dr.Web Classic tariff to be terminated

Russian anti-virus company Doctor Web is reporting that starting October 1, 2020, when the Dr.Web Anti-virus service is subscribed to via its partners, and starting April 1, 2020, when it is subscribed to via the SCC, the Dr.Web Classic subscription package will no longer be available.

About the termination of subscriptions to Dr.Web Classic

We have reached the point where the anti-virus alone, without the complete set of modules, has become especially vulnerable — the development of the latest cyber threats confirms this. A savings of 0,35 € (the difference in price between Dr.Web Classic and Dr.Web Premium) is leading to the infection of user systems. And users may not always understand that it is not enough to use a product that does not have all the components needed to protect their systems.

The Dr.Web Classic subscription package will be discontinued within the framework of our services, both for home and for business.

Those users who have paid for the Dr.Web Classic tariff will be upgraded to the Dr.Web Premium tariff and will be able to use it until the paid period ends at no additional charge.

Only Dr.Web Premium can help minimise the risk of infection.

Under Dr.Web Premium, Dr.Web anti-virus solutions for Windows come with the complete set of components, providing reliable protection from all current and advanced threats. However, any protection technology can be rendered powerless when attackers employ social engineering techniques to make users disable anti-virus software, open bogus links, and launch files sent to them by cyber crooks.

The Anti-spam* (included in Dr.Web Premium) filters out unwanted emails as well as malicious files that have been designed specifically to circumvent known security mechanisms. Armed with information about the distinctive features of bogus mailings, it identifies and deletes emails containing the latest threats. Criminals will not be able to influence the actions of users—the emails will never reach their potential targets.

Doctor Web has released Subscription Control Center (SCC) 10.2.1-201810251 for its Dr.Web AV-Desk Internet service.

Change log:

The range of quantity discounts available for legal persons protecting PCs and servers has changed.
The account balance refill option is now available for organisations.
Financial reports now include information about the number of days a subscription has been active. Additional information is also now available for each subscription: the validity period, the price (includes any discount), the discount, and the total amount.
An issue involving free subscriptions being factored into the quantity discounts given to organisations has been resolved.
Polish language support has been discontinued.

An API issue preventing the SCC from connecting to Dr.Web AV-Desk via HTTPS has been resolved.

Doctor Web has released Subscription Control Center (SCC) versions 10.1.1 and 10.2.0-201804171 for its Internet service Dr.Web AV-Desk. The updated version offers new features for resellers and Dr.Web anti-virus service subscribers and delivers fixes for known defects.

Changes made to SCC 10.1.1:

a maintenance mode, which optimises the SCC updating process, has been added.

Changes made to SCC 10.2.0-201804171:

a new financial report format has been implemented;
the deployment process for the partner copy of the SCC has been simplified;
the information in the partner and organisation account settings has been expanded;
a subscription can now be created for organisations;
a user balance can now be managed via the SCC external interfaces;
tariff packages have been updated, as has the currency and account balance information (taking into consideration the monetary reforms in Belarus);
the price for subscription packages cannot be changed via their settings—this action is now available via the option "Proposed price change";
the user type can no longer be changed from individual to legal entity and vice versa;
in the SCC, unsupported authorisation via OpenID has been deleted for Google and Yandex;
an issue has been fixed that caused the status of an additional subscription to be processed incorrectly for customers taking out a repeat subscription to the Dr.Web Premium package;
a number of other fixes have been introduced.

The upgrade from the current version 10.1.0 to the new versions is performed only via the SCC. Version 10.1.1 is an intermediate version and prepares the SCC for version 10.2.0-201804171 to be installed correctly. Until version 10.1.1 is installed, version 10.2.0-201804171 cannot be accessed via the SCC.

Doctor Web has released version 10.1 of its Internet service Dr.Web AV-Desk. The updated version incorporates a number of enhancements, and known issues have been resolved.

Dr.Web AV-Desk 10.1 server upgrades include:

The addition of the ability to search for hosts by user account;
The Agent and Preventive Protection settings are now located in different sections of the Dr.Web Control Center;
Agent entries in the anti-virus network tree can now be sorted by various criteria;
Some anti-virus network tree data can now be exported;
The Dr.Web Server log can now be configured via the Dr.Web Control Center;
If the License Manager is used, a license key file can be applied to the Everyone group automatically;
The Dr.Web Server task scheduler now supports asynchronous tasks. Also, tasks can now be transferred from the default schedule;
Tasks on protected hosts can now be run according to UTC or using the local time zone of the host;
Administrators who only operate with specific groups are prohibited from approving new anti-virus network hosts;
The host count routine for the group installer has been revamped;
Routines for generating installer packages for Linux and macOS have been upgraded to reduce package-generation time and data volume in the cache;
Routines for interacting with the Dr.Web Server database have been optimised;
The size of a memory-mapped database file can now be adjusted via the Dr.Web Control Center;
Web API queries have been optimised for working with administrators, hosts and host groups;
The administrator permission section has been redesigned;
A primary group can be assigned for a host in accordance with membership rules;
The Dr.Web Control Center Help section has been updated.

Resolved Dr.Web AV-Desk 10.1 server issues:

An issue allowing an administrator with restricted privileges to roll back server software using a backup;
An issue involving incorrect information about error types and actions appearing in the Threats and Errors tables;
An issue that could affect the performance of Dr.Web Server and Dr.Web Control Center if tasks were being processed in multi-thread mode;
A database shrinking issue that occurred during clean-up operations under Windows;
An error that could prevent new hosts from being approved to connect to the Dr.Web Server;
A problem resulting in an error when large files were loaded and unloaded via the Dr.Web Control Center's Repository Contents and Quarantine sections;
An error that occurred while the number of hosts on the anti-virus network was being determined if the corresponding request had been sent via Dr.Web API—particularly when data was being transmitted to the Dr.Web Mobile Control Center;
A defect that interfered with the ability to check the virus database status on protected hosts;
A problem that might result in an error in the Quarantine section of the Dr.Web Control Center.

Changes made to the agent software include:

Dr.Web AV-Desk Agent (11.0.1.12060) and the module Dr.Web AVD Agent for Windows supporting Active Directory (11.00.12060) have been updated to the release version.
Also resolved was a Dr.Web AV-Desk Proxy (REL-1000-AV 201711250) issue that prevented agent software with no ID from being installed if the proxy server was under heavy load.

Providers should consult Doctor Web specialists in order to upgrade their Internet service. The Dr.Web Anti-virus service software will be updated automatically.

Russian anti-virus company Doctor Web has updated Dr.Web Agent for Windows in the service Dr.Web Anti-virus. Now users can benefit from all the innovations incorporated into Dr.Web series 11 products for Windows, including technologies that provide enhanced protection against attacks that exploit zero-day vulnerabilities. The anti-virus also boasts a significant performance boost.

Innovations in Dr.Web Agent for Windows version 11

Anti-exploit protection prevents malware from using software vulnerabilities when trying to take over an operating system. Fine-tune the Preventive Protection to control access to objects for trusted applications and thus avoid system conflicts. In addition, the Preventive Protection settings now include the option to create profiles.

Dr.Web Scanning Engine routines have been optimised to ensure that possible threats are detected faster.

Dr.Web Scanner SE’s graphical user interface (GUI) has been completely redesigned—settings for the scanner are now included in with the general anti-virus settings, making it easier to manage.

Statistics on the activities undertaken by the anti-virus are now gathered and stored. Filters provide easy, instant access to events involving specific components or to the list of Parental Control-blocked sites that users have attempted to access.

New Parental Control features include:

The new option Interval time limit lets parents specify the amount of time that their children can spend on the computer. At night (the time period involved can be defined manually) computer access is blocked automatically.

You can now either block access to files and folders completely or grant read-only access.

Profiles can now be used to adjust Time-limit settings.

Settings can be imported between user accounts.

The Parental Control can be disabled for a specific account.

To enable access to files and folders, there is no longer any need to clear the list of blocked objects or disable the Parental Control.

A new website category called Online games has been introduced; access to it can be blocked.

New Quarantine Manager administrative features ensure that quarantined objects are rescanned and backups are displayed, allowing users to restore deleted or cured files, if necessary.

The new Dr.Web HyperVisor component, which runs on the lowest system level, greatly enhances threat detection and neutralisation and guarantees that all malware attempts (including malware that has yet to be discovered) to infiltrate the protected system or disrupt Dr.Web's operation will be thwarted.

Managing whitelists of blocked devices is easier than ever: you can configure permissions for specific users or groups. Two access modes are now available for devices with a file system: ‘Allow all’ and ‘Read-only’.

Updating the Dr.Web Control Service and the SpIDer Agent for Windows component no longer requires a restart.

A separate pop-up notification about the need to restart the system after threats have been neutralised has been added; it is only displayed after the neutralisation of complex threats that can’t be removed unless the system is rebooted. A blocked device notification has been added to the settings for the option to block the use of specific devices.

Anti-spam settings are now available alongside SpIDer Mail settings.

A new option has been added to protect against BadUSB (for devices that emulate keyboards).

Virus database updating can be run manually in the mobile mode.

Doctor Web has released Subscription Control Center (SCC) 10.1 for its Internet service Dr.Web AV-Desk. The updated version offers new features for resellers and Dr.Web anti-virus service subscribers and delivers fixes for known defects.

A new trial subscription policy has been introduced for business customers. Now a reseller can define the duration of the trial period (up to 60 days) during which a subscriber (a legal person) is entitled to use the Dr.Web Anti-virus service. A trial period starts as soon as the user creates their first subscription.

Now the SCC offers more options for viewing customer account balances and provides more detailed information.

New features are also available to service providers who offer hardware maintenance services. They can now use the SCC to create new subscriptions; view information about existing ones; suspend, block or unblock subscriptions; and change subscription packages.

Now it’s also possible to configure security policies for subscriber passwords.

The update also provides a fix for a problem that caused errors when group administrators installed the software.
