"Mobile scanners" on the offensive

Users keep reporting cases of SMS fraud where web-sites promote so called “mobile scanners” supposedly providing nude images of people in focus of the device’s camera.

According to users’ reports sometimes criminals even provide software after they have been paid but features available in the program differ from features promised in an advertisement. The program displays several video-clips but there is no actual “see through” feature.

Apart from payment over SMS criminals also introduce alternative payment options such as a paid phone call with a specified duration.
