New online fake anti-virus holds attention of users

A new wave of spam messages over ICQ has been registered. Messages contain links to web-sites implementing a fake anti-virus fraud scheme.
The main features of latest fake anti-virus schemes are absence of a product title and a greater emphasis on visual methods of social engineering. In particular a pop-up window is brought to the foreground as a user gets to the web-site. Other elements of the site remain as the darkened background to keep the user focused on the message.
Upon completion of the “system scan” warning messages inform a user that his personal information may be stolen and that measures must be taken to solve the problem immediately. Messages displayed on such web-sites are getting more and more intimidating.
Cyber-criminals also try to keep a user from leaving the web-site. A confirmation window is displayed every time a user attempts to move to another web-site or close the site's window.
